Susanna Yudkin
MSW, LICSW, MFTC
My therapeutic approach is insight-oriented, relational, and collaborative. I work with adults, couples, and adolescents to make meaningful changes in their lives. Together, we will take the time to get to the heart of your story and uncover deep-rooted emotional patterns to help you live a more examined life and understand yourself better. I specialize in anxiety, depression, identity issues, relationship issues, and self-esteem.
I use psychodynamic theory to explore how early experiences impact your current functioning. I believe we are most likely to make change within the context of a warm and supportive relationship, and I use the therapeutic relationship as a key part of the healing process. My clients describe me as caring, thoughtful, and a good listener. I also use humor when appropriate, and hope that therapy can be not only meaningful and productive, but also positive and enjoyable.

In our work together, I will gently challenge you to say the unsayable, learn to trust yourself, get out of your own way, and discover new ways to relate to yourself and others. I also help couples to uncover unhelpful patterns, improve communication, and relate to each other more deeply. My clients are thoughtful, curious, and willing to go deep to understand themselves and their troubles from the inside out.
I earned my Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Family Systems as well as a post-graduate certificate in Trauma therapy from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work. I completed a post-graduate program in Marriage and Family therapy at Denver Family Institute, and am a Marriage and Family Therapist candidate. I also hold a certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy from the William Alanson White Institute in New York. I serve as a lecturer for the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs College of Public Service in Advanced Clinical Techniques for MSW students. I am a LCSW in private practice in Denver, Colorado. I am also a LICSW in the state of Massachusetts, and can conduct sessions remotely.

Values
My therapeutic work is rooted in social justice. I support all forms of anti-oppression, including LGBTQIA+ rights, Anti-Racism, Feminism, Health at Every Size, and Sex Positivity. I strive to provide a safe space for people of all identities and backgrounds to feel seen, valued, and respected, while rejecting discrimination. I provide a non-judgmental, accepting environment to help clients heal from the impacts of identity-based trauma.
